A series of erotic short stories adapting the manga of the same name. In the first, the most gorgeous girl in class, who's guaranteed to turn every guy who asks her out down due to her high standards, meets a unusual man who may break that streak and become her boyfriend. In the second, a girl develops feelings for her childhood friend and tries to get him to notice her but it proves difficult because he has a rather large obsession with maids.

Where it came from
Menkui! was released as an original video animation in 2011 by Pink Pineapple, a studio historically specializing in adult animation. The production was developed during a period when the studio was heavily focused on adapting erotica and niche character-driven narratives into short-form video formats for the Japanese home media market, reflecting the broader industry trend of the late 2000s and early 2010s to monetize independent manga and light novel properties through high-concept, condensed visual storytelling.
The design and aesthetic of the animation adhere to the studio’s signature house style of the era, prioritizing character expression and stylized visual appeal to suit the tastes of their established audience. As is common with boutique adult animation studio outputs from this period, the production design was intended to maximize the impact of the source material's themes within a restricted runtime. The work is viewed primarily as a product of the mid-tier OVA market, serving as a localized release within Japan’s extensive catalogue of sub-genre animation.
