Mori no Ongaku-dan

Mori no Ongaku-dan, or Forest Music Troupe, was released in 2015 as a short-form original net animation produced by Pony Canyon. It serves as a gentle, atmospheric showcase of character design and animation quality, often distributed to highlight the studio's technical capabilities in visual storytelling and soft, aesthetic world-building. The project is rooted in the tradition of Japanese short-form animation that prioritizes mood and sensory experience over complex narrative arcs.

The animation reflects the high-polish aesthetic associated with mid-2010s Pony Canyon productions, characterized by vibrant color palettes and fluid, whimsical character movements. While the short was not intended as a mainstream blockbuster, it was well-received within animation circles for its cohesive art direction and the evocative, nature-inspired score that defines the viewing experience. It remains a representative example of how digital distribution allowed boutique studios to experiment with shorter, stylized formats during this period.
