Where it came from
Motto! Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori 2nd Season was produced by studio Ajiado and released in 2021 as a continuation of the long-running anime adaptation of Yutaka Hara's beloved children's book series. The series follows the comedic adventures of Zorori, a fox who aspires to be the 'King of Pranks,' and his two boar companions, Ishishi and Noshishi. This season continues the lighthearted, episodic format that defined the original books, emphasizing humor and Zorori’s often failed, yet imaginative, attempts to pull off grand schemes.
The production maintains the aesthetic established in earlier iterations, focusing on a vibrant, accessible animation style suitable for a younger audience. Ajiado sought to preserve the whimsical tone and visual gags that have made the Kaiketsu Zorori franchise a staple of Japanese children's literature since its inception in the late 1980s. Like its predecessors, the 2021 season was well-received for staying faithful to the spirit of Hara's storytelling while updating the production values for a new generation of viewers.
