Blood is circulated around, calmly replacing itself, making us alive. It throbs ceaselessly without any attention. It carries on.

Where it came from
MyakuMyaku –Drops of Life– was produced by the Geidai Animation program at Tokyo University of the Arts, serving as an official cinematic extension of the branding for Expo 2025 Osaka. The film was conceived to humanize and contextualize the character MyakuMyaku, the controversial and surreal mascot of the exposition, which draws its design inspiration from the concept of 'cells of life' and the historical legacy of the 1970 Osaka Expo's Tower of the Sun.
The animation utilizes a distinct, fluid aesthetic intended to bridge the gap between abstract art and corporate branding, reflecting the experimental spirit of the university's animation department. Upon its release, the film and the character itself generated significant public discourse, characterized by a mix of fascination and confusion regarding its unconventional, multi-eyed appearance, ultimately cementing it as a polarizing but memorable fixture in Japanese pop culture.
