Summer! Closed Room!! Intimacy!!! Secret Time Begins
Yoshi is walking along a mountain path with a bug net and cage in hand when he notices an unfamiliar girl in a phone booth. The girl notices Yoshi looking in the direction and calls out to him. The girl's name is Sachi, and she seems to be having trouble getting through on the phone. Yoshi can't leave her alone and enters the booth. But then the bug net gets stuck in the door, preventing him from getting out. To escape the heat, Yoshi takes off his clothes. Sachi hesitates, but she can't stand the heat and takes off her clothes. Yoshi, seeing Sachi's figure, becomes sexually aware. An insect flies out of the insect cage Yoshi is holding. Sachi panics and embraces Yoshi. Yoshi is struck by the softness of Sachi's body.

Where it came from
Natsu to Hako is a 2025 original video animation produced by Studio Mary Jane, emerging as part of a contemporary wave of experimental independent animation in Japan. The project reflects the studio's broader commitment to evocative, atmospheric storytelling that prioritizes subtle emotional resonance over traditional narrative pacing, situating itself within the modern boutique studio movement that seeks to preserve hand-crafted aesthetic sensibilities in a digital-first industry.
The visual direction of the OVA is noted for its restrained color palette and focus on ambient, tactile textures, which serve to underscore the work's themes of nostalgia and solitude. By deliberately stripping away complex plot mechanics, the creators aimed to evoke a specific sense of place and temporal stillness. Upon its release, the work received quiet praise from critics for its technical discipline and its refusal to rely on the high-octane tropes common to larger commercial productions.
