Neko Jockey Season 2

Neko Jockey Season 2 was produced by the Japanese studio DLE Inc. and released in 2021 as a continuation of their experimental comedy series. The show operates within the studio's signature style of Flash-animated, low-budget surrealism, which often utilizes minimalist aesthetics to highlight absurd character interactions and dry, rapid-fire dialogue. This season builds upon the established premise of anthropomorphic cats participating in high-stakes horse racing, blending elements of the sports genre with satirical humor.

The series design is characteristic of DLE's collaborative and iterative creative process, often prioritizing comedic timing and conceptual oddity over traditional animation fluidity. By utilizing a distinct visual shorthand, the creators aim to subvert audience expectations for standard anime sports tropes. Upon its release, the show received attention primarily within niche online communities that favor the studio's recognizable, deadpan style of comedy, finding a specific audience that appreciates its unconventional narrative approach.
