Nekohiki no Oruorane

Nekohiki no Oruorane, or 'The Cat-Puller Oruorane', was produced by J.C.Staff and released as an original video animation in 1992. Emerging from an era when the studio was heavily invested in adapting niche manga and experimenting with experimental short-form storytelling, the project stands as a curious example of the period's interest in surreal, often whimsical animation.

The design and narrative tone reflect the sensibilities of the early 90s experimental OVA boom, where studios often prioritized distinct visual characterizations and atmospheric storytelling over mainstream commercial appeal. As an obscure title in J.C.Staff’s early portfolio, it remains largely categorized as a cult curio, reflecting the studio's broader efforts to establish a unique identity in the competitive direct-to-video market of the decade.
