Based on Shoko Nakagawa's (Shokotan's) stories about her cats. The main characters of Omakase Mamitasu are 10 cats. Shokotan owns 10 cats in real life, and she adores one in particular named Mamitasu, the anime's namesake. The anime depicts the slapstick comedy of the idiosyncratic 10 cats and the folks in the unusual "Nakagawa family."

Where it came from
Omakase! Miracle Cat-dan, also known as Omakase! Miracle Cat-dan: The Animation, premiered in 2015 as a short-form television series based on a popular Japanese manga series. The project was conceived as a lighthearted, comedic exploration of feline antics, specifically designed to appeal to younger audiences through a vibrant visual style that translated the distinct, expressive character designs of the original source material into a fluid, episodic format.
The animation production was handled by studios experienced in the slice-of-life genre, focusing on pacing that matched the brief, punchy humor of the source manga. Upon its release, the series was received as a gentle, accessible entry in the cat-themed media landscape of the mid-2010s, praised primarily for its faithful adaptation of the original character illustrations and its ability to maintain a consistent, whimsical tone throughout its run.
