20 years after his escape from Impel Down, the legendary pirate Shiki "the Golden Lion" reappears causing massive upheaval to the Marines. During his long seclusion, he was able to come up with a scheme to bring the World Government to its knees. On his way to execute the plan, Shiki crosses paths with the Straw Hat Pirates and becomes so impressed with Nami's knowledge of meteorology that he abducts her to forcedly enlist her into his crew. Luffy and the gang end up on a strange land populated with monstrous beasts as they desperately search for Shiki and Nami.

Where it came from
One Piece Film: Strong World was released in 2009 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the long-running anime series. It is notable for being the first film in the franchise where series creator Eiichiro Oda took a direct, hands-on role in the production. Serving as the executive producer and lead character designer, Oda aimed to ensure the movie maintained the narrative integrity and visual charm of the source material while expanding the scope of the Straw Hat Pirates' adventures.
The film centers on the antagonist Shiki the Golden Lion, a legacy character from the series' history, and was designed to fit into the broader continuity of the manga. Its release was met with significant commercial success in Japan, effectively setting a new standard for subsequent One Piece films. The production was praised for its ambitious scale and Oda's deliberate effort to bridge the gap between television animation and cinematic storytelling.
