Where it came from
OTMGirls no YOKIYOKI Channel is a series of short-form original net animation (ONA) episodes produced by the Japanese studio Fanworks. Debuting in 2020, the project was created to expand the presence of the OTMGirls—a fictional idol unit introduced in the anime series 'Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu'—allowing them to engage with audiences in a more casual, internet-focused format outside of the primary narrative.
The animation reflects the aesthetic established by the parent series, focusing on a bright, expressive, and simplified character design style typical of short-form promotional anime. Directed with an emphasis on comedy and lighthearted idol tropes, the shorts were designed to capitalize on the digital popularity of virtual idol culture, serving as a supplement for fans who enjoyed the group's dynamic within their original source material.
