Panpaka Pantsu Matsuri Movie: Purin Ara, Domo

Released in 2017, Panpaka Pantsu Matsuri: Purin Ara, Domo serves as a feature-length installment in the long-running Panpaka Pantsu franchise. Created by the studio DLE and originally debuting as a series of short clips on Shizuoka Broadcasting System, the franchise focuses on a piglet protagonist named Panpaka who is obsessed with underwear. The movie continues the studio's signature Flash animation style, which prioritizes rapid-fire humor, vibrant aesthetics, and catchy musical interludes intended to appeal to younger audiences while maintaining an ironic, surreal edge.

The design of the characters and the overall visual direction are rooted in DLE's characteristic aesthetic of simplicity and intentional distortion, which allows for cost-effective but expressive animation. By the time this film was produced, the character had become a recognizable mascot in Japan, featured across a wide array of merchandise and collaborations. The movie was designed as a celebratory compilation of short stories and musical segments, reflecting the franchise's origins as web and broadcast shorts rather than a traditional narrative feature, and it was received by fans as a lighthearted extension of the core character's brand.
