Panpaka Pants W-O New!

Panpaka Pants W-O New! emerged in 2016 as the third major television iteration of the Panpaka Pants franchise, a project produced by the Tokyo-based studio DLE. The series centers on the titular character, an energetic piglet with an affinity for wearing unique and colorful undergarments, who originally debuted as a promotional mascot for a Shizuoka-based department store. By 2016, the franchise had already transitioned into a successful pop-culture phenomenon, leveraging DLE’s signature Flash animation style to create short, catchy, and repetitive segments designed for younger audiences.

The character design was intended to be highly accessible and visually distinctive, utilizing bold lines and a bright color palette that translates easily across various merchandise lines. By the time this specific series was released, the creative direction focused on expanding Panpaka’s world through song-and-dance shorts that emphasize whimsy and positive reinforcement. The show was well-received within its niche, maintaining the franchise's reputation for quirky humor and cementing the piglet's status as a recognizable figure in Japanese character branding.
