Where it came from
PetitCure: Precure Fairies is an original net animation released by Studio IKIF+ in 2025. The project was developed to expand upon the rich mascot history of the long-running Precure franchise, focusing specifically on the whimsical, miniature beings that act as mentors and companions to the magical girls. It marks a transition for the studio, moving toward character-focused vignettes designed to highlight the personalities of these side characters outside of their typical support roles in the primary series.
The character designs were curated to emphasize a chibi aesthetic, prioritizing expressive movement and simplified geometry to distinguish the work from the more elaborate, high-action sequences seen in mainstream iterations. The artistic direction leaned into a vibrant, pastel-heavy palette to evoke a sense of nostalgia and comfort for existing fans. Upon its debut, the series was received as a lighthearted, visually cohesive expansion of the franchise’s lore that successfully centers the smaller icons of the Precure universe.
