Pikotaro's LULLABY LA LA BY

Pikotaro's Lullaby La La By is an original net animation series released in 2017, created to expand the multimedia footprint of the Japanese comedian Kazuhito Kosaka, known globally by his persona Pikotaro. Following the explosive viral success of his 2016 song Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen, the production sought to capitalize on his sudden international recognition by translating his idiosyncratic humor into a surreal, animated format intended for a younger and broader audience.

The series was produced by the studio DLE, a company specializing in Flash animation and character-driven shorts. The design of the series centers on the hyper-stylized, leopard-print-clad persona of Pikotaro, placing him in various dreamlike scenarios that intentionally blur the line between whimsical children's entertainment and his signature deadpan comedic delivery. While the animation style is intentionally minimalist, the project was received as a curiosity of late-2010s internet culture, documenting the attempt to transform a brief viral moment into a sustainable digital brand.
