Where it came from
Resident Evil 4D-Executer was created as a promotional attraction for Japanese theme parks and amusement centers in the year 2000. Produced by Capcom, this short 4D film was designed to offer an immersive, sensory experience for fans of the Resident Evil franchise, moving beyond the traditional console gameplay to utilize physical effects such as air blasts and vibrating seating to simulate the terror of a Raccoon City outbreak.
The film follows a squad of U.S. Special Forces tasked with rescuing a scientist from an overrun laboratory. It is notable for its brief duration and its reliance on high-tension action sequences intended to bridge the gap between the game's atmospheric horror and the visceral excitement of a cinema experience. While it remains a niche piece of franchise history, it is regarded by enthusiasts as a distinct curiosity that highlights Capcom’s early experimentation with non-interactive media tie-ins.
