Where it came from
Released in 2023 to promote the theatrical premiere of the animated film Spy×Family Code: White, this special collaboration project saw Capcom partner with Wit Studio and CloverWorks to bridge the worlds of their respective intellectual properties. The collaboration served as a high-profile marketing crossover, featuring a cinematic trailer that depicted a stylized confrontation between the game's iconic character Chun-Li and the anime's telepathic assassin Yor Forger, highlighting the fluid animation expertise of the participating studios.
The collaboration was designed to leverage the cultural overlap between the fighting game community and the global fanbase of the Spy×Family franchise. By utilizing the in-game engine and artistic assets of Street Fighter 6 alongside the distinct character designs of Tatsuya Endo’s source material, the project aimed to create a seamless visual fusion. It was received as a celebratory marketing event that emphasized the shared themes of martial prowess and narrative intensity, effectively generating significant cross-media engagement for both the video game's ongoing support cycle and the film's international rollout.
