Where it came from
Summer Pockets: A Lifetime's Worth of Summer Breaks is a 2025 animated feature film produced by Studio feel., serving as an adaptation of the popular visual novel developed by Key. The project was conceived to bring the narrative's themes of ephemeral youth and nostalgic island summers to the cinematic format, building upon the foundations established by the original game's visual storytelling and character-focused writing.
The film was directed with an emphasis on preserving the distinctive character designs originally conceived by Na-Ga, Tsubasu Izumi, and Yuunon Nagayama. By translating these aesthetic elements into a cohesive cinematic experience, the production aimed to capture the specific emotional tone of the source material. Upon its release, the film was received as a milestone for the franchise, noted for its attempt to condense the expansive, multi-route structure of the visual novel into a singular, flowing narrative experience.
