Summer Pockets: The Girl Who Forgot Summer Vacation

Summer Pockets: The Girl Who Forgot Summer Vacation serves as the feature-length film adaptation of the 2018 visual novel Summer Pockets, originally developed by Key. Produced by studio feel., the project was announced as part of a strategy to translate the emotional narrative and summer-themed aesthetics of the source material into a cinematic format. The production aims to distill the complex, branching paths of the original game into a cohesive narrative experience, focusing on the protagonist's journey to the isolated island of Torishirojima.

The film's visual identity reflects the signature style of the original game's character designer, Na-Ga, known for his soft, evocative illustrations. By collaborating with director Tomoki Kobayashi, the production team sought to maintain the nostalgic atmosphere and melancholic tone that defines the Key brand. Upon its 2025 release, the film was positioned to cater to the dedicated fanbase of the visual novel series, emphasizing themes of loss, connection, and the fleeting nature of childhood summer memories.
