Where it came from
Tennis no Ouji-sama OVA ANOTHER STORY II: Ano Toki no Bokura was produced by studio M.S.C and released in 2011 as a direct-to-video follow-up to the popular Prince of Tennis franchise. The project was designed to expand the series' lore by focusing on vignettes and character-driven side stories that were not covered in the original manga or television run, providing fans with deeper insights into the pasts of key rivals and teammates.
The animation style maintained the established aesthetic of the later Prince of Tennis OVAs, prioritizing high-energy character interactions and nostalgic storytelling. Developed during a period when the franchise was transitioning through various adaptations, this entry was well-received by the existing fanbase for its ability to humanize the series' competitive protagonists, serving as a contemplative companion piece to the high-stakes matches that defined the primary series.
