In Earthclear, everyone is born into a fixed role, and villagers are the weakest of all. Most never rise above Level 5—except Kouji Kagami, who is Level…999?! On a monster hunt, he meets Alice, the Demon King’s daughter, and discovers they share an impossible dream: coexistence between humans and demons. In a world destined for conflict, they charge into battle to defy fate and shatter the rules.

Where it came from
The Villager of Level 999 is a 2026 original net animation produced by the studio Brain's Base. It emerged during a period of sustained popularity for the litRPG and fantasy subgenres, which frequently explore the juxtaposition of mundane life and extreme character stats. The project was conceived as a lighthearted expansion of the common 'overpowered protagonist' trope, focusing on the comedic friction caused by a character whose numerical prowess vastly exceeds the demands of his quiet village environment.
The design of the series reflects Brain's Base's established approach to character-driven narrative, emphasizing expressive animation to heighten the contrast between the protagonist's understated personality and his overwhelming power. Upon its release, the production was noted for its clean aesthetic and its self-aware approach to genre conventions, resonating with viewers who enjoy fantasy series that prioritize humor and low-stakes character building over traditional high-fantasy conflict.
