TIGER & BUNNY 2

Tiger & Bunny 2 was released in 2022 as a direct sequel to the original 2011 anime series, picking up the story of veteran hero Wild Tiger and his younger partner Barnaby Brooks Jr. Produced by Bandai Namco Pictures, the series was released as an ONA (Original Net Animation) on Netflix, marking a significant shift from traditional broadcast television to a global streaming-first distribution model. The production was spearheaded by series director Mitsuko Kase, who aimed to preserve the character-driven narrative of the original while expanding the world-building regarding the role of corporate-sponsored superheroes in Stern Bild City.

The aesthetic design maintained the series' signature blend of traditional hand-drawn character animation and high-fidelity 3D CGI for the heroes' specialized suits, a technique that was highly praised for its seamless integration during the first season. Keiichi Sato, who served as the original character designer, provided the foundational visual language that informed the updated look of the characters. Upon its release, the series was received as a respectful and nostalgic continuation, particularly lauded for its commitment to exploring the aging process of heroes and the evolving nature of social media-driven justice in a modern landscape.
