Black-necked Swan

The black-necked swan, scientifically identified as Cygnus melancoryphus, is a species native to the temperate wetlands of South America. Evolutionarily distinct from its northern hemisphere counterparts, it has long been noted by naturalists for its striking appearance, characterized by a snowy white body juxtaposed against a velvet-black head and neck.
