Kosrae White-eye

The Kosrae White-eye, scientifically known as Zosterops cinereus, is a small passerine bird endemic to the island of Kosrae in the Federated States of Micronesia. Evolutionary biologists categorize it as part of the Zosteropidae family, a group known for their distinctive white rings around the eyes. The species evolved in the dense, moist tropical forests of the island, adapting to an isolated environment that encouraged specific physical traits such as its characteristic rounded wings and tail, which assist in maneuvering through thick, high-canopy vegetation.
