Olav Christopher Jenssen episodes

Olav Christopher Jenssen episodes was published in 1991 by the Kleinheinrich press in Münster. The book serves as a focused catalog of the Norwegian artist's work during a pivotal period of his career, when he was gaining international recognition for his lyrical, abstract approach to painting and printmaking. The publication functions both as a record of his artistic output and as an exploration of his visual language, which often emphasizes process, layering, and a restrained, almost meditative palette.

The design of the volume reflects the minimalist aesthetic favored by the Kleinheinrich imprint, known for producing high-quality artist books that treat the physical object as an extension of the work itself. Jenssen, whose practice is deeply concerned with the relationship between the viewer and the canvas, collaborated on the presentation to ensure that the printed images translated the depth and texture of his original works. Upon its release, the volume was well-received within European contemporary art circles as a sensitive and essential documentation of Jenssen's evolving abstract methodology.
