Vita del P. Ludovico Fiorillo dell'Ordine de'Predicatori

Published in Venice in 1759, this biographical work recounts the life of Ludovico Fiorillo, a noted figure within the Dominican Order. It was issued during a period when the Venetian publishing industry, centered around houses like that of Francesco Zane, remained a significant hub for religious and hagiographic literature. The text serves as an example of eighteenth-century ecclesiastical biography, intended to memorialize the virtues and ministry of an esteemed member of the clergy for a contemporary Catholic audience.

The volume reflects the traditional aesthetic of Venetian printing from the mid-1700s, characterized by clear, formal typography and modest ornamentation consistent with devotional publications of the era. Luigi Salas authored the narrative, likely drawing upon internal order records to document Fiorillo's legacy. As a product of the Zane press, the book highlights the collaborative nature of religious scholarship and the commercial printing trade in Venice, which balanced liturgical needs with the preservation of institutional history.
