Where it came from
Classics is the debut studio album by AYANO, an artist who was sixteen at the time of its release in 2017 through the independent label Toukotsu Sound. This collection represents a specific era of late-2010s bedroom pop and electronic experimentation in the Japanese music scene, characterized by a minimalist production style and introspective lyricism that defined the artist's early creative identity.
The album was designed to capture the transitional nature of late adolescence, blending synthesized textures with raw vocal performances to create an intimate atmosphere. While the release remained largely within the niche circle of independent music enthusiasts, it was noted for its cohesive aesthetic and the maturity of its songwriting, serving as a foundational entry point for those tracking the artist's developing sonic signature.
