Provenance

Where it came from

Club 15 was a highly popular radio program that aired on CBS from 1947 to 1953, featuring music performed by the Andrews Sisters accompanied by the Jerry Gray Orchestra. These transcriptions captured a specific era of American popular music, characterized by tight harmonies and the sophisticated big-band arrangements that defined the post-war radio landscape.

This 2021 release by Sepia Records serves as a digital-era archival project, intended to preserve the high-fidelity sound of these original radio broadcasts for modern listeners. By collecting these specific performances, the label aimed to maintain the legacy of the Andrews Sisters’ versatility and the orchestral precision of Jerry Gray, whose work remains a touchstone for mid-century broadcast entertainment.
