Where it came from
Released in 2002 under the El Delirio label, this collection represents a retrospective phase in the long-standing career of the Spanish actress and singer Conchita Velasco. During this period, there was a resurgence of interest in nostalgic variety performances, prompting a revisit of her cabaret-style musical contributions that were deeply rooted in the mid-century Spanish popular entertainment circuit.
The album serves as a curated anthology of Velasco’s musical work, emphasizing her persona as a versatile performer who moved seamlessly between screen acting and stage music. The design and track selection were intended to evoke the glamour and wit of her most famous theatrical personas, aiming to cement her legacy as a multifaceted cultural icon for both long-time admirers and a new generation of listeners.
