Where it came from
The 2018 self-titled collaboration between Jenő Fekete and Misi Horváth represents a significant entry in the contemporary Hungarian blues landscape. Fekete, a seasoned guitarist and vocalist known for his role in the band Palermo Boogie Gang, joined forces with Misi Horváth, widely recognized as one of the country's most prominent harmonica players. The project was conceived as a stripped-back, authentic exploration of traditional blues roots, intended to showcase the interplay between acoustic guitar and amplified harmonica in an intimate, live-style setting.
The album was self-released by the duo in 2018, reflecting a trend among veteran independent blues musicians to maintain creative control over their discography. The design and production aesthetic prioritize a raw, unvarnished sound that captures the technical proficiency of both artists without the interference of extensive studio polishing. Within the Hungarian music scene, the record is regarded as a respectful nod to the Delta and Chicago blues traditions, praised by local enthusiasts for its musical sincerity and the undeniable chemistry between the two veteran performers.
