Haré Rama Haré Krishna / Lootmaar / Des Pardes

This 2006 CD release from Saregama serves as a compilation volume, drawing together iconic film scores from the golden era of Bollywood cinema. By gathering soundtracks from Haré Rama Haré Krishna, Lootmaar, and Des Pardes, the compilation highlights the experimental and funk-inspired soundscapes defined by R. D. Burman and Rajesh Roshan during the 1970s and 1980s. These films represent a shift in Indian cinema toward modern urban aesthetics, with the soundtracks often acting as a bridge between traditional Indian instrumentation and global pop, rock, and psychedelic influences.

The design of this compilation follows the standard archival approach used by Saregama to reissue its extensive back catalog for the digital age. By packaging these three distinct soundtracks into a single disc, the label aimed to provide a convenient retrospective for collectors of retro Hindi film music. The compilation was received as a functional tool for fans of the specific composers, ensuring that the legacy of these arrangements remained accessible as the format of the music industry transitioned away from physical media.
