Where it came from
Released in 2014 on the Felmay label, In Sete Altere is a dedicated tribute album by Italian pianist and composer Arturo Stàlteri, focusing on the repertoire of the influential singer-songwriter Franco Battiato. Stàlteri, who maintained a long-standing collaborative and personal relationship with Battiato, sought to reinterpret these iconic compositions through a minimalist, neo-classical lens, stripping away the complex arrangements often associated with the original studio versions to highlight the core melodic architecture.
The album reflects Stàlteri's established career as a bridge between progressive rock, electronic music, and contemporary classical piano. His approach to the arrangement was designed to create an intimate, introspective atmosphere that respects the philosophical depth of Battiato's lyrics while emphasizing the harmonic sophistication of his work. Upon its release, the record was well-received by fans of both artists as a respectful and technically precise homage to one of Italy's most significant cultural figures.
