JoLLy TRouBLe

Jolly Trouble was released in 2015 by the French experimental pop band Gablé under the Ici d'Ailleurs label. Emerging from the band's idiosyncratic creative environment in Caen, the album reflects their signature collage-based songwriting approach, which blends lo-fi aesthetics, acoustic instrumentation, and whimsical, frantic electronic textures. It was crafted during a period when the group was refining their reputation for blurring the lines between DIY folk and avant-garde pop.

The album's design and sonic landscape are marked by a sense of playful chaos, consistent with the band's background in the visual arts and their propensity for surrealist themes. Upon its release, critics noted the record as a continuation of their inventive, multi-layered style, praising its ability to remain accessible while retaining a distinctly experimental edge. It stands as a notable entry in the catalog of Ici d'Ailleurs, a label widely respected for supporting eclectic and boundary-pushing independent music.
