Where it came from
The 1998 self-titled release by Kim & Jens Peter's represents a specific moment in late 1990s independent music production. Released without the backing of a traditional record label, this project emerged from an era where local artists increasingly embraced the autonomy of self-distribution to circulate their work within specific regional or underground music scenes, bypassing the gatekeeping of major industry structures.
The album serves as a document of the artistic collaboration between Kim and Jens Peter, reflecting the creative sensibilities common to independent duos of the time. While specific design documentation regarding the cover art or production liner notes is sparse, the release is characterized by its intentional lack of commercial polish, favoring an authentic, raw aesthetic intended to reach a core audience of listeners interested in unfiltered, artist-driven soundscapes.
