Llego... Van Van. Van Van Is Here

Llego... Van Van was released in 2003 by the legendary Cuban dance orchestra Los Van Van under the Havana Caliente label. The album serves as a testament to the group's enduring influence on timba and son cubano, arriving at a time when the band was refining its signature mix of traditional Cuban rhythms and modern electronic synthesis. It was produced by Juan Formell, the band's founder and visionary, who sought to maintain the group’s relevance in a changing musical landscape by integrating contemporary arrangements while staying true to the danceable energy that had defined them for decades.

The album's design and thematic direction reflect the group's status as a cultural pillar of Cuba. By the time of this release, Los Van Van had solidified their role as ambassadors of Cuban music, and the project was received as a continuation of their mission to evolve the sound of the 'songo' beat. Critics and fans alike noted the polished production values and the seamless integration of horn sections with synthesizers, cementing the record as an essential entry in the late-period discography of one of the most important orchestras in Latin music history.
