Rivière Jaune

Rivière Jaune was released in 1996 on the Le Tamanoir label, serving as a significant entry in the discography of Le Rêve Du Diable. The group, a foundational name in the Quebec folk and traditional music revival, crafted this album to bridge the gap between historical acoustic traditions and the evolving soundscapes of the late twentieth century. It reflects the band's long-standing dedication to preserving and reinterpreting the fiddle tunes and songs that define the regional identity of Quebec.

The album reflects a production philosophy focused on authenticity and the communal energy of traditional Québécois music. By the mid-1990s, the band had already established themselves as veterans of the folk circuit, and this recording captured their maturation as arrangers. The design and presentation were intended to honor the rustic roots of their repertoire while providing a clean, professional fidelity that could compete in the modern folk market, ultimately cementing their status as essential contributors to the francophone musical heritage.
