Schwanensee-Dornröschen-Nussknacker

Released in 1999 under the Belart label, this CD represents a focused collection of Tchaikovsky's most famous ballet suites: Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker. Belart, a budget-conscious subsidiary of Universal Music, was designed to make classical masterworks accessible to a wider audience by repurposing high-quality archival recordings from the extensive Deutsche Grammophon and Philips catalogs.

The packaging and selection reflect a utilitarian approach to classical music curation, favoring recognizable melodies over complete performance cycles. By grouping these three iconic scores together, the release targets listeners seeking a convenient, foundational compilation of Romantic-era orchestral music. While the recording artists vary depending on the specific source tapes used for the remaster, the collection is noted for its straightforward presentation of the essential themes that define Tchaikovsky's legacy in ballet repertoire.
