Steve Jensen

This self-titled 2018 release by Steve Jensen represents a personal project from the artist, issued independently without the backing of a commercial record label. Emerging from the contemporary singer-songwriter tradition, the album serves as a documentation of Jensen's solo artistic output during this period. The disc was produced as a private or limited-run pressing, reflecting a trend among independent musicians to offer physical media directly to their audience as a tangible extension of their live performances.

The design of the CD leans into a minimalist aesthetic, common for self-released projects where the focus is placed squarely on the intimacy of the songwriting rather than high-concept marketing art. By eschewing a traditional label, Jensen retained full creative control over the production, resulting in a project that feels earnest and unfiltered. While it remains a niche item within the broader landscape of indie music, the record stands as a primary artifact of the artist’s specific creative direction and technical approach at the time of its 2018 release.
