The Fantastic Sound Of Werner Twardy

The Fantastic Sound of Werner Twardy was released in 2010 as part of Polydor's ongoing efforts to reissue and anthologize the work of prominent German composers and bandleaders from the mid-twentieth century. Twardy was a prolific figure in the German easy listening and orchestral pop scene, frequently blending jazz influences with the cinematic production styles that defined European television and radio music during the 1960s and 1970s.

The collection was curated to showcase the lush arrangements and technical precision characteristic of Twardy's studio sessions. Designed for listeners interested in the light music and library music movements of the era, the compilation aimed to preserve the legacy of Twardy's specific approach to instrumentation, which often utilized expansive horn sections and rhythmic arrangements that mirrored the aesthetic of international pop-orchestral music at the time.
