Where it came from
Released in 2007 by Galy Records, this compilation serves as a historical document for the seventh iteration of the Trois-Rivières Metalfest. The festival, based in Quebec, has long served as a vital hub for the Canadian extreme metal scene, and these annual compilations were produced to showcase the diverse range of death, black, and thrash metal bands featured in the event's lineup.
The album's design and track selection reflect the raw, underground aesthetic of the mid-2000s Canadian metal circuit. By curating tracks from both established local acts and emerging underground talent, the compilation was intended to provide attendees with a sonic souvenir while simultaneously promoting the festival’s commitment to regional heavy music culture. It remains a representative artifact of the specific community-driven spirit that characterized the Trois-Rivières Metalfest during that era.
