Where it came from
The 2016 Victory in the Pacific 25 Dollar gold bullion coin was issued by the Royal Australian Mint to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the end of World War II. It serves as part of a broader numismatic program honoring the service and sacrifice of Australian forces in the Pacific theatre. The design reflects a solemn respect for historical memory, intended for both bullion investors and commemorative collectors who maintain an interest in 20th-century military history.
The coin features the standard fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley on the obverse, a fixture of Australian coinage since the late 1990s. The reverse side depicts imagery related to the end of hostilities, utilizing the Mint’s high-standard precision striking techniques to ensure the fine gold quality expected by the bullion market. Upon its release, it was well-received by those seeking to mark the anniversary through tangible, precious metal assets.
