2000 AD #2499

2000 AD is a long-running British science fiction anthology comic that first appeared in 1977, known for its irreverent tone and its role as the birthplace of Judge Dredd. Issue 2499, released in the summer of 2024, continues the publication's tradition of presenting a mix of recurring serials and one-off shorts that blend dystopian satire with gritty action. As part of the modern era of the magazine, this issue reflects the contemporary editorial focus on showcasing both established talent and evolving graphic storytelling styles within the Rebellion Developments publishing framework.

The design and content of this specific issue maintain the magazine's established visual identity, characterized by high-contrast art and bold, punchy layouts that have defined the series for decades. The curation of this issue leans into the anthology's legacy, balancing long-running character arcs with fresh narrative concepts. While individual issues are ephemeral by nature, they are collected by enthusiasts who value the continuity of the publication's aesthetic and its persistent influence on the landscape of British science fiction comics.
