Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters #3

Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters #3 was published in 1986 by Eclipse Comics during the mid-eighties surge of independent, self-aware parodies that followed the explosive success of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Conceived by writer Don Chin, the series embraced a tongue-in-cheek premise that leaned heavily into the era's fascination with anthropomorphic animals and martial arts cinema, serving as a lighthearted commentary on the burgeoning speculative market of the period.

The interior art for the series was handled by various contributors, reflecting the DIY aesthetic common among small-press publishers of the time. The design utilized exaggerated character tropes and frantic, high-energy layouts intended to mirror the tone of contemporary underground comics. While the series achieved a modest cult following for its absurdity and timing, it was generally received by critics as a piece of ephemeral pop-culture satire rather than a central work of the medium.
