Adventure Comics #118

Adventure Comics #118 was published in July 1947 by DC Comics during the Golden Age of comic books. At this stage in the series' long history, the title served as an anthology platform featuring a revolving cast of characters, most notably Superboy, who had begun appearing in the book in the mid-1940s. The issue reflects the post-war era's interest in lighthearted, youth-oriented heroic narratives, emphasizing the suburban adventures of the young Clark Kent in Smallville.

The creative direction for Superboy stories during this period was largely driven by the house style established by creators like Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, though by 1947, various studio artists were contributing to the expanding mythos. The design focused on accessible, straightforward storytelling intended to appeal to adolescent readers. While individual issues from this run are now highly regarded by collectors for their historical significance as foundational texts of the Superman canon, they were produced at the time as disposable entertainment, typical of the serialized comic book output of the late 1940s.
