Ashita Kubi ni Narisō #3

Ashita Kubi ni Narisō, which translates roughly to 'I Might Get Fired Tomorrow,' is a manga series created by the artist Kenshi Hirokane. First serialized in the 1980s, the series emerged during the height of Japan's bubble economy, capturing the anxieties and daily life of the quintessential Japanese salaryman. Hirokane, known for his keen observation of corporate culture and office politics, designed the series to resonate with the professional class navigating the rigid hierarchies and systemic pressures of contemporary Tokyo.

The series is celebrated for its satirical yet grounded portrayal of corporate survival, offering a blend of humor and poignant social commentary. Issue number three continues the established narrative thread of the protagonist's ongoing struggle to maintain job security amidst the absurdity of his workplace environment. Like much of Hirokane’s work, the art style features clean, realistic lines that emphasize character expression and the mundanity of office settings, a stylistic choice that helped ground the series’ wit in a relatable reality, earning it a dedicated following among adult readers of seinen manga.
