Boule et Bill #37

Boule et Bill, a cornerstone of Franco-Belgian comics, was created in 1959 by Jean Roba. The series focuses on the daily life of a young boy named Boule and his humorous, loyal Cocker Spaniel, Bill. Volume 37, titled 'Billes de Bill', serves as a later entry in the long-running series, reflecting the transition of the creative mantle following Roba's retirement. This volume maintains the classic gag-a-day format that endeared the characters to generations of readers, focusing on lighthearted domestic antics and the whimsical relationship between the boy and his dog.

Following Roba's departure, the series continued under the stewardship of Laurent Verron, who illustrated this volume while respecting the foundational visual language established by the creator. The design philosophy throughout the series remained rooted in expressive, clean-line artwork intended for a family audience. Upon its release, this volume was received as a continuation of the beloved franchise, serving as a nostalgic touchstone for readers familiar with the original aesthetic while adapting the humor to fit a modern publication schedule.
