Choujin X #16

Choujin X is a supernatural manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida, widely recognized for his previous work on Tokyo Ghoul. The series debuted in 2021 as a digital-first release on the Shonen Jump+ platform. Ishida designed the world of Choujin X to explore themes of identity and mutation, utilizing his characteristic high-contrast, expressionistic art style to convey the visceral transformations of the titular choujin characters.

Issue 16 continues the narrative arc of the series, maintaining Ishida’s experimental approach to paneling and character design. As part of the ongoing serialized collection, it reflects the author’s iterative development of the Yamato Mori organization and the complex power dynamics between its members. The series has received critical attention for its departure from traditional shonen tropes, blending dark urban fantasy with a more nuanced, character-driven storytelling approach.
