Choujin X #17

Choujin X is a manga series created and illustrated by Sui Ishida, widely known for his previous work, Tokyo Ghoul. First serialized in 2021, the series follows the story of Tokio Kurohara as he navigates a world inhabited by superpowered beings known as Choujin. Ishida designed the series to blend his signature dark, visceral aesthetic with a slightly more flexible, evolving tone, utilizing digital tools to create highly detailed and atmospheric panels that emphasize character internal states.

Issue 17 represents the ongoing narrative development within this series, continuing Ishida's trend of experimental layouts and complex character designs. Like much of the series, it is published by Shueisha through the Tonari no Young Jump web platform. It was received by the audience as a continuation of the series' established tradition of high-stakes action sequences and psychological depth, maintaining the creator's reputation for intricate storytelling and distinct, brooding visual style.
