Colección Genios del Humor #2

The Colección Genios del Humor was a Spanish comic series published by Editorial Bruguera during the 1980s. This series was designed to showcase the work of legendary Spanish cartoonists from the 'Bruguera School,' a group of artists whose humorous style defined the magazine era of the mid-20th century. Issue number two specifically highlights the work of Francisco Ibáñez, the creator of the iconic characters Mortadelo and Filemón, reflecting the publisher's strategy of repackaging classic comedic strips into affordable, monographic softcover volumes for a new generation of readers.

The design of these volumes prioritized accessibility and volume-based storytelling, often collecting previously serialized adventures into a cohesive narrative format. Francisco Ibáñez, known for his frenetic pacing and intricate slapstick visual gags, was the centerpiece of this editorial project. The series was well-received by the Spanish public, serving as a nostalgic bridge that solidified the cultural legacy of these characters long after their initial appearances in weekly periodicals like Pulgarcito.
