Colección Genios del Humor #3

Colección Genios del Humor was an influential anthology series published by Editorial Bruguera in Spain during the 1970s. This series was designed to showcase the work of the 'Escuela Bruguera,' a group of illustrators and writers who defined Spanish comic culture through magazines like Pulgarcito and Tío Vivo. The collection served as a retrospective format, gathering previously serialized comic strips and short graphic stories into a more permanent, curated volume that allowed readers to appreciate the evolution of beloved characters.

Issue number 3 focused on the work of Francisco Ibáñez, the legendary creator of Mortadelo y Filemón. By compiling his distinctively frantic, slapstick-heavy stories, the volume highlighted Ibáñez's signature style characterized by expressive character designs and crowded, detail-oriented backgrounds. The series was well-received upon release, acting as a bridge between the weekly magazine format and the growing market for trade paperback graphic novels in the Spanish-speaking world.
