Dark Horse Presents #122

Dark Horse Presents #122 was published in August 1997 as part of a long-running anthology series that served as a flagship for Dark Horse Comics. The series was designed to act as a creative laboratory, offering a mix of established licensed properties and experimental independent work, allowing creators to explore mature themes and non-traditional narrative structures outside the constraints of mainstream superhero publishers.

This specific issue is notable for its inclusion of creative talent associated with the publisher's diverse portfolio, often featuring serialized stories that would eventually be collected into standalone graphic novels. The design and editorial direction were overseen by the Dark Horse team, who aimed to maintain the anthology's reputation for high-quality production and eclectic storytelling, consistently drawing in readers looking for alternatives to the dominant industry trends of the late nineties.
